SABS have released a new version of the national standard for fire detection SANS 10139:2021
There are many changes affecting those specifying, installing, or commissioning fire detection systems in South Africa.
FSIB FIRE SYSTEMS provides another valuable service to the industry and brings a precis of all these changes.
Changes were introduced to BS 5839 after a fire in a care home killed several residents, these have been included in SANS 10139:2021
Changes include:
- Fire panel types and specifications
- Manual Call points
- Zone plans
- Detector selection
- Fire beam mounting
